Biography

I was born in Detroit, Michigan. I moved to the Upper Peninsula when I was 6 years old. I left the UP after getting married and lived in Flint until 1965 when we moved to Birch Run, Michigan. I married my husband Phil in 1958 and we are still together 64 years later! I don't know how he did it! We have five children, 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. My husband and family are all very supportive. I would not be where I am today without them. I am mostly self-taught but take classes whenever I get the chance. I feel you are never too old to learn!! I am a certified Mary Owens Pen & Ink/Oil Rouging Instructor but I also teach oil, acrylics, watercolor, leathercraft and just recently colored pencil. I love teaching and the rewards are amazing. I have also painted murals on motorcycles, wheel covers and a mural at Blessed Trinity Church in Frankenmuth.
